Is Nigel Farage already running Britain?
A year into Starmer's premiership, is he facing the same troubles as David Cameron?
Keir Starmer might not have much time to celebrate as he reflects on one year in office later this week.
Of course, there have been many positives in Starmer’s first year – most notably in my opinion on the world stage – where he has secured the sorts of trade deals with America and India that eluded all of his Conservative predecessors. He has bolstered Britain’s position in Europe by taking a leading role in Ukraine and has successfully walked a tightrope that has kept Britain in favour with our most important ally, the United States.
On the domestic front, however, things are more tricky. Fairly or unfairly, his domestic agenda has been overshadowed by several U-turns on key policies that have allowed Starmer’s political opponents, left and right, to tell a story of a government in chaos.
